University Trailblazers Varsity got things moving in the first inning, when Nate Shatkowski singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
University Trailblazers Varsity put up six runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught by University Trailblazers Varsity was led by Tyler Galyean, Shatkowski, and Ben Westerkamm, all knocking in runs in the inning.
A single by Jacob Poore in the first inning was a positive for Indianapolis Shortridge.
Shatkowski was the winning pitcher for University Trailblazers Varsity. He went four innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out six and walking one. Estep threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Poore took the loss for Indianapolis Shortridge. He surrendered ten runs on four hits over four and a third innings, striking out six.
Matt Moore, Shatkowski, Westerkamm, and Galyean each collected one hit to lead University Trailblazers Varsity.
Poore went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Indianapolis Shortridge in hits.
