The Trailblazers had some strong swims at the competitive Eagle Invite at Zionsville High School.
The only top-8 finish for the girls came from the 400 free relay team of Regan Hooker, Audrey Priest, Kylar Kavanaugh, and Charlotte Kumler (7th).
The team also earned points by finishing 9th-16th place! That included Regan Hooker (9th- 100 fly, 11th- 200 IM), the 200 Medley Relay team of Charlotte Kumler, Caitlin Clark, Audrey Priest, and Regan Hooker (10th), Charlotte Kumler (10th- 100 back, 11th- 500 free), the 400 free relay team of Zoe Napier, Ella Eskenazi, Madison Clary, and Stasia Reinholt (10th), Audrey Priest (12th- 100 fly, 16th- 200 free), the 200 free relay team of Zoe Napier, Kylar Kavanaugh, Caitlin Clark, and Ella Eskenazi (12th), the 200 free relay team of Macy Paton, Jaclyn Copeland, Annie Klemsz, and Kate Lautenbach (14th), Caitlin Clark (14th- 100 breast), the 200 Medley Relay team of Macy Paton, Jaclyn Copeland, Madison Clary, and Stasia Reinholt (15th), and Kylar Kavanaugh (15th- 200 IM).
It is also worth noting that Ella Eskenazi (200 free, 500 free) and Kylar Kavanaugh (100 free) came in 17th place– right outside of earning points.
We also had some solid best times!
Zoe Napier dropped a smidge off of her 200 free down to 2:41.01– which is especially impressive considering her best time was from a break out swim at sectionals last year.
Madison Clary also keeps shaving time off of her 100 free– another second gone!– 1:14.33.
Jaclyn Copeland killed her previous best 50 free relay split by 3 seconds so it is now 37.02.
We also had some green swims– even for some of our veterans!
Audrey Priest’s first 200 free was a very solid 2:30.85.
Kylar Kavanaugh swam the 200 IM for the first time (and she liked it!!!) and went 2:50.76.
Zoe Napier swam the 500 free– truly racing the last 50– and went 7:15.79.
Kate Lautenbach hit every wall on her first 100 back to go 1:38.74. She also made her 200 free relay debut with a split of 38.80.
Our girls’ 200 medley relay was the fastest we have ever been unshaved!
We return to racing at the PAAC meet at Ball State.
