The Trailblazers were defeated by both North Central High School and Noblesville High School in a double dual meet at Noblesville on Tuesday, January 14th.

Despite some injuries and illnesses, the Trailblazers had some very fast swims. Keegan Priest won both of his individual events– the 50 free and the 100 fly. The Trailblazers finished 5th and 6th in every other event. While winning the 50 free, Keegan Priest broke his own school record in the 50 free– it is now 23.23.

The Trailblazers also posted a lot of best times over the course of the meet.

In the medley relay, Andrew Laramore tied his best ever 50 free relay split (26.57).

Foster Wilson dropped over 10 seconds in his 200 free down to a very solid 2:23.82!

Colin Freeman dropped somewhere in the range of a casual 28 seconds down to a 2:43.22. Colin Freeman also hadn’t swum the 100 free in a while, so he took off 9 seconds and now goes a 1:11.44. In the 200 free relay, Colin Freeman (31.83) had his best 50 free relay split.

Gordon Bradley dropped almost 45 seconds in the 500 from the last time he swam it and qualifying for sectionals in the event! He now goes 6:26.72.

In the 100 backstroke, Mitch Wray dropped 5 second (2:01.62) while in breaststroke, Charlie Dahle dropped about 6 seconds to go 1:46.41.

In the final relay of the meet, Andrew Laramore (58.87), Foster Wilson (1:07.41), and Gordon Bradley (1:08.55) went best 100 free relay splits. Foster’s was from a flat start, which means it is is also his best 100 free time!

Two Blazers also swam events that were new to them! Charlie Dahle swam his first official 200 free (2:49.47). Foster Wilson survived his first 100 flys, finishing in 1:24.93!

Many Trailblazers also posted season-bests at the meet. Though those are always worthy of celebration, Andrew Laramore’s IM was almost 10 seconds faster than at this meet last year and his second-best time ever and his 500 free was also his second-best time ever, which is especially worthy of celebration.

The Trailblazers compete next at the Schools with No Pools Invitational hosted by Brebeuf at the IUPUI Natatorium.
