The University High School girls cross country team was well-represented by its senior runners at the Jeremy Wright Small School Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 24. The three senior members — Ella Eskenazi, Jada Swearingen, and Isabella Garino-Heisey — were the only Trailblazers to compete in the race, and they each had excellent performances in the season’s first meet. Eskenazi finished 11th overall with a sub-22 finish time. Swearingen was close behind, finishing 22nd with a sub-23. Both Eskenazi and Swearingen earned ribbons. Garino-Heisey also had a strong first race, running a consistent pace and finishing with a sub-30 time. Congratulations, Trailblazers!
