FINAL SCORES: UHS Boys- 111, Elwood Boys- 45
The University Boys Swim Team defeated Elwood on Wednesday evening.
University boys won 9 out of 11 events. Event winners were Keegan Priest (100 fly, 100 back, 200 MR, 400 FR), Roy Raz (200 IM, 500 free, 200 MR, 400 FR), Cole Reinholt (100 breast, 200 MR, 400 FR), Cordell Wilson (200 MR, 200 FR), Austin Clark (200 FR, 400 FR), Hayden Suarez- Davis (200 FR, 400 FR), and Andrew Laramore (200 free).
Eight of the eighteen swimmers who competed were swimming for University for the first time: Ethan Bandick, Eli Beheler, Gordon Bradley, Coghlin Kumler, Andrew Laramore, Asher Whitcomb, Jack Zhou, and Joe Zhou.
We had ELEVEN best times this night:
Christian Moore took out the 200 medley relay with a new best backstroke split of 43.67.
Ari Atlas had a best 50 breast split in the 200 medley relay- 38.18.
Roy Raz went a best time of 2:11.34 in the 200 IM, breaking the school record previously held by Brody Davison (’17).
Austin squeezed his 50 free a little tighter to a 26.65. Meanwhile, Zac dropped almost four seconds in his 50 free (39.85).
We had two swimmers go best 50 free relay splits in the 200 free relay. Zac dropped to 38.80 while Christian dropped down to 38.68.
Two of our new swimmers actually went best times DURING their first meet as they went faster in the 200 free relay than they did anchoring the 200 medley relay. Eli dropped .03 while Andrew dropped about half a second.
Ari dropped two seconds in his 100 breast for an impressive 1:23.40.
The Trailblazers will compete next against Burris and New Castle this Saturday.
