The University Trailblazers Boys Basketball team kicked off the season with a complete team win against Shortridge. The offense was clicking, with the team scoring at least 20 points in each quarter, but the defense was strong as well. Shortridge didn’t score more than 11 points in any quarter and was held under 10 points in both the first and second quarters. David Howard started the season with a great performance, notching a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds. The Blazers had it going from long range. Howard hit 5 threes, Quinn Steiner hit 4, and Ethan Sickels hit 3. The team shot 14-29 from deep. The team takes the court again on Wednesday against early season rival, Park Tudor.
