University Trailblazers Varsity had a tough time generating runs on Tuesday, dropping their game with Harrison 13-5.
Harrison opened up an early lead in the second inning when Cade Carlson induced Levesque to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
Harrison took the lead for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Laguire’s sac fly scored one run for Harrison, Simmons singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs, and Carlson threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for Harrison.
Harrison scored seven runs in the seventh inning. The big inning for Harrison came thanks to doubles by #14, Cochran, and Laguire and a single by Ross.
Ross toed the rubber for Harrison. He went seven innings, allowing five runs on eight hits and striking out six.
Carlson got the start for University Trailblazers Varsity. He surrendered six runs on nine hits over three innings, striking out five. Garrett Hill and Adam Oxley entered the game as relief, throwing three and a third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.
University Trailblazers Varsity tallied eight hits on the day. Hill and Asher Thompson each racked up multiple hits for University Trailblazers Varsity. Thompson and Hill all had two hits to lead University Trailblazers Varsity.
Harrison scattered 15 hits in the game. Simmons, Ross, Bauer, and Levesque each had multiple hits for Harrison. Harrison was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Ross had the most chances in the field with one.
