The University High School boys cross country team kicked off the 2019 fall season with a solid performance at the Jeremy Wright Small School Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 24. Each runner did his part to contribute to the team’s 4th place finish. Junior Ian Salmon pulled away from the pack at the end to finish 1st overall in the race, and he was followed closely by sophomore Lucca Conti, who finished 7th, and senior Noah Laramore, who finished 11th. Freshman Isaiah Smith had an incredible first high school race, finishing 32nd overall, and sophomore Thomas Price rounded out the top five on the team with a 58th place finish and a sub-20 time. Freshman Foster Wilson, sophomore Tommy Kaplan, and freshman Alfonzo Gallanosa also had strong first performances for the season. The Trailblazers looks poised for an outstanding season this year!
