University High School is thrilled to announce that Stephanie Kleiner has been named the new varsity softball coach.
Kleiner fell in love with the coaching experience at University when she served as an assistant softball coach under Maddy MacAllister in 2019. She has coached travel softball and high school softball for the past 15 years.
“Having spent four summers at University High School with Indiana Primetime Sports, my relationship with the student body and faculty there grew, and I felt this was the perfect opportunity for me,” said Kleiner.
Kleiner grew up traveling the country to play softball. She was a varsity player at Deerfield High School (Deerfield, IL) and played her freshman year at Indiana University. After that freshman season, she decided to focus on earning her elementary education degree, which she did. She now teaches 2nd grade at West Clay Elementary School in Carmel.
“I look forward to helping the student-athletes grow their overall softball knowledge,” said Kleiner. “I want to use my knowledge of the game to help the girls form the correct fundamentals needed to grow the program. And I want to work with the girls on what it means to be a good teammate and to support one another.”
Please join us in welcoming Coach Stephanie Kleiner! We look forward to the spring 2021 softball season!
