lacrosse · Pettinga Signs National Letter of Intent

Senior Neil Pettinga signs his National Letter of Intent to play lacrosse at Wabash College. University’s lacrosse coach Steve Nealy joined him for the signing.

On Wednesday, Jan. 9, one Trailblazer athlete signed a National Letter of Intent with Wabash College.

Senior Neil Pettinga, one of the players who founded the lacrosse program at University High School, will play mens lacrosse at Wabash College next year.

Pettinga signed the letter in front of his parents, coaches, teammates, and peers at University High School’s daily all-school community meeting.

“When I think of University High School lacrosse, there’s one person who comes to mind, and that’s Neil Pettinga,” said University High School lacrosse coach Steve Nealy. “Nobody loves lacrosse more than this guy; nobody is as committed or as dedicated. And Neil is the best face-off guy in the state of Indiana with over 600 career wins at face-off. In lacrosse, the main thing is to get the ball. Once you possess the ball, you have the chance to score, and Neil gives us a great chance.”

Congratulations to Neil!
