The University AquaBlazers placed second at their conference meet on Saturday, January 7th.
Over the course of the meet, the boys won half of the individual events, set 3 PAAC records, and 4 new school records.
The teams winning swims came from Brody Davison, Cole Reinholt, and Charles Earle. Davison won the 100 fly (58.46) and 500 freestyle (5:12.60), both of which were new PAAC record times. Reinholt emerged victorious from the 100 breaststroke with a PAAC record-setting time of 1:12.51, and Earle dropped 10 seconds from his earlier best time to win the 100 backstroke in 1:16.67.
Davison also set two new individual team records in the 50 freestyle (24.76) and 100 freestyle (53.77) by leading off the 200 and 400 freestyle relays. He was followed by Reinholt, Earle, and Cordell Wilson to break school relay records in both of those events (1:49.18 and 4:08.71).
Five team members also went best times over the course of the meet. Reinholt dropped two seconds in his 200 IM for second place (2:32.27) while Earle dropped an impressive 19 seconds in the same event (2:48.00). Kevin Shen and Christian Moore both dropped time in the 50 freestyle (31.46 and 43.77 respectively). Wilson dropped 9 seconds in his 500 freestyle (6:51.43) and went a personal best in the 100 backstroke when he swam it for the first time for a second place finish (1:24.79). Max Ammerman, Reinholt, Wilson, Moore, and Earle also all had their best 100 freestyle splits in the 400 freestyle relay.
The AquaBlazers will compete next against Zionsville High School and North Central High School on Tuesday, December 10th at 6:00 PM at Zionsville High School.
