Lindblom comes to University with many years of coaching and swimming experience. She is a seven-time NCAA All-American, competing on the Kenyon College varsity women’s swimming team until she graduated in 2014.
After graduating from Kenyon, Lindblom served as an assistant swimming coach at Brown University in Rhode Island until she accepted a position as an 8th grade literature and language arts teacher at The Orchard School in Indianapolis, where she still works.
“I am excited to return to coaching because the pool deck has always been my home, and I think that swimming is a great sport for all students to push themselves to be their best and discover their strengths and weaknesses,” said Lindblom. “University is a great place to coach because I will have the chance to work with students who have a wide variety of interests and reasons for joining the team. In my experience, that kind of diversity results in a team that can truly define hard work.”
Practices for the swim team will begin soon, as the Trailblazers prepare to compete in their third season. University will have many returning swimmers, including standout senior Brody Davison, and they look to have a strong season.
“This season, my priority will be to create a platform of support from coaches and teammates as each member sets individual goals,” said Lindblom. “Of course, I also hope that our team sees best times across the board over the course of the season!”
