Meet Recap

The University Men’s Swim Team won their first meet of the season against Elwood Community High School on Wednesday evening, providing the team with their first victory since their creation. As the first meet of the season (and for many members, their first meet ever), this meet provided a baseline for all members to build off of in upcoming meets.

The medley relay team of Charles Earle, Cole Reinholt, Brody Davison, and Max Ammerman kicked off the meet with a first-place finish. Reinholt and Davison would go on to win two more events apiece: the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke for Reinholt and the 100 butterfly and 500 freestyle for Davison. Ammerman teamed up with Kevin Shen, Agastya Das, and Cordell Wilson to win the 200 freestyle relay later in the meet.

Senior Ian Weiker posted two new personal best times at Elwood: first in the 100 free (1:32.25) and then in the 100 backstroke (1:50.08).

The Swim Blazer’s next meet is against Cathedral and Burris Laboratory School on Saturday, December 3rd. The meet will be held in the Lewellen Pool at Ball State University.
