Cross Country Conference Champions

The University High School girls cross country team won their second straight Pioneer Academic-Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday, September 24.

Led by freshman Jada Swearingen and senior Michaela McKasson, who were named All-Conference, the Trailblazers were down 19 points at the end of the first mile, but the runners collectively closed the gap and won the race by 3 points.

Freshman Robin Karwath ran her best race all season at a time of 25:40, crushing her previous season PR by almost two full minutes. Junior Alexa Nealy and sophomore Lauren Flickner also stepped up for the Trailblazers with outstanding performances and season PRs.

Congratulations to the Trailblazers!
